DCDP provides a holistic education for the poorest of the poor. DCDP not only provides tuition and supplements, but also provides for tutors, books and supplies, nutrition and healthcare resources. Our goal is to not only develop the children in education, but also to inspire them to become active citizens, who will impact the future of India.

Many of the children, now in the program, could not attend school because of the cost. Those for which the families could scrape-up the funds for school had deplorable drop-out rates primarily due to an inability of the parents to help the children with their school assignments; most of the parents have themselves not attended school. DCDP not only provides tuition supplements (in needful cases complete tuition), but provides for tutors, books and supplies, nutrition and healthcare resources. There are 70 children in this program, although the demand is for far more to be included. The goals are to not only develop the children in education but also to inspire them to complete their education, learn basic social and sanitary skills, become spiritually aware and to become active citizens who will impact the world’s futures. The children are bright, hopeful and enthusiastic about their future. Parents are also being transformed by the program and whereas some were negative to education, now they applaud what is being done.

NEEDS/ OBSERVATIONS

Due to continuous request from the locals DWT wants to increase the number of children to 100, which may only be done on availability of funds.
